This policy covers how Wetalk, ("Wetalk," "we," "us," or "our") treats personal information that it collects and receives on our websites, sites, and applications related to Wetalk. This notice tells you what information we collect, steps we take to protect and secure it, how we use and share information, and finally, how you can contact us with questions or concerns.

1. Types of Data We Collect

1.1 Information you provide for us

Among the types of Personal Data that Wetalk collects, by itself or through third parties, there are: Cookies; Usage Data; email address; password; first name; last name; picture, language preferences, time zone location or post content on a Wetalk site. Data may be freely provided by you, or, in case of Usage Data, collected automatically when using Wetalk services.

In case of mandatory data requested by Wetalk, unless specified otherwise, failure to provide this data may make it impossible for Wetalk to provide its services. In cases where Wetalk specifically states that some data is not mandatory, you are free not to communicate this data without consequences to the availability or the functioning of the service.

In case of the information in your profile, such as your birth date, gender, photo, location or additional contact information, you have choices about this types of data. This additional profile information will assist other users in finding and communicating with you but it’s your choice whether to include sensitive information or not. Please do not post or add personal data to your profile that you would not want to be publicly available.

Wetalk may also collect information about your payment transactions with us and with some of our business partners. This information might include necessary information to process your due payments to us, such as your credit card number.

Any use of Cookies – or of other tracking tools – by Wetalk or by the owners of third-party services used by Wetalk serves the purpose of providing the service required by you, in addition to any other purposes described in the present document and in the Cookie Policy, if available.

You are responsible for any third-party Personal Data obtained, published or shared through Wetalk and confirm that you have the third party's consent to provide the data to Wetalk.

1.2 Service Use

We may log usage data from your browser when you visit or use our site. We use log-ins, cookies, and internet protocol (“IP”) addresses to identify you and log your use and the pages you request.

2. How We Use Your Data

Wetalk uses information for the following general purposes: products and services provision, billing, identification and authentication, services improvement, contact, research, and anonymous reporting.

2.1 Our Services

Wetalk may use your personal information where it is necessary to complete a transaction, to operate or improve the Wetalk products and services or to do something that you have asked us to do.

Our services allow you to find and communicate with other language learners. Wetalk will display your name and any other user-submitted profile information on your profile according to the preferences you set in your account.

2.2 Communications

We may send you service, technical and administrative emails, messages and other types of communications in connection with any of our paid products and services. These communications are considered part of the Wetalk account and you may not opt out of them. We might also send you teacher suggestions, learning articles and other promotional messages. These are marketing messages and you can control whether you want to receive them.

Email addresses and full names may be used when a user invites a friend via email to join Wetalk and when Wetalk sends notifications to a user related to their use of Wetalk.

2.3 Security

We may use your data (including your communications) if we think it’s necessary for security purposes or to monitor and prevent possible fraud or other violations of our User Agreement or this Privacy Policy and/or attempts to harm our Visitors and Members.

2.4 Advertising

Advertisements appearing on and off the Wetalk Sites, Products or Services and may be delivered to users by Wetalk or one of our Web advertising partners using the following data:

- Information from cookies, pixels or ad tags (such as browser type and IP address)

- User provided information (e.g., learning language)

- Information from your use of our services (e.g., pages visited, lessons taken)

Wetalk does not share any personally identifiable information with advertisers. Wetalk may share general demographic information (such as aggregated statistics about members' language interests) and non-personally identifiable information (such as browser type and IP addresses) with advertisers and partners.

Wetalk does not give advertisers access to your individual personal account information.

3. How We Share Information

Wetalk does not share personal information we learn about you from your use of the Wetalk web sites, products and services with others except as described in this policy.

When you provide personal information through using Wetalk you are however sharing your personal information with Wetalk and its affiliated entities. The use of your personal information by these organizations is subject to this policy.

Your profile is visible to all Members and customers of our Services subject to the preferences you set in your account. It can also be visible to others on or off of our Services (e.g., Visitors to our Services or users of third- party search engines).

Email addresses and full names may be used when a user invites a friend via email to join Wetalk and when Wetalk sends notifications to a user related to their use of Wetalk.

Posts, Likes, Follows, Comments, Messages

Our Services allow viewing and sharing information including through posts, likes, follows and comments. When you post a message on a Wetalk Site or Application, you have the ability to post a message which may include personally identifiable information about yourself.

Wetalk may share your personal information where it is necessary to complete a transaction or to operate.

3.2 Service providers

We use others to help us provide our Services (e.g., maintenance, analysis, audit, payments, fraud detection, marketing and development). They will have access to your information as reasonably necessary to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for other purposes.

3.3 Legal Disclosures

We may share your personal information to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, to establish or exercise our legal rights or, defend against legal claims and if in our judgment in such circumstances disclosure is required or appropriate.

We may share your personal information if we believe it is necessary in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our various terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.

3.4 Change to Wetalk’s Business

As we continue to develop our business, we may also buy or sell all or part of our business. In such transactions, personally identifiable information you have shared with us is generally one of the business assets that will be transferred. The transferred personally identifiable information will remain subject to the promises made in this privacy policy or subsequent policies to which you have consented.

3.5 With Consent

Wetalk may share information with third parties when we have explicit consent to do. It will be clear at the point of collection who is collecting the personal information and whose privacy statement will apply.

Other entities' use of their cookies is subject to their own privacy policies, and not this policy. Advertisers or other entities do not have access to Wetalk cookies.

5. Third Party Advertising

Advertisements appearing on the Wetalk Sites, Products or Services may be delivered to users by Wetalk or one of our Web advertising partners. Our Web advertising partners may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement. In this way, ad servers may compile information about where you, or others who are using your computer, saw their advertisements and determine which ads are clicked on. This information allows an ad network to deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This privacy policy covers the use of cookies by Wetalk and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

Wetalk does not share any personally identifiable information with advertisers. Wetalk may share general demographic information (such as aggregated statistics about members' interests and occupations) and non-personally identifiable information (such as browser type and IP addresses) with advertisers and partners. Wetalk does not give advertisers access to your individual personal account information. However, by selecting, interacting with or viewing an ad you are consenting to the possibility that the advertiser will make the assumption that you meet the targeting criteria used to display the ad.

6. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Wetalk may revise, modify or update this policy. We may notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your particular Wetalk account or by placing a prominent notice on our site. You are encouraged to check this policy frequently for any changes as your continued use of the Wetalk service indicates your consent to such changes.

7. Confidentiality and Security

No data transmissions over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Consequently, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we take reasonable measures to secure it on our systems.

If Wetalk learns of a security breach we may attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps. By using Wetalk or providing personal information to us you agree that we can communicate with you electronically regarding security, privacy and administrative issues relating to your use of those sites, products and services. We may post a notice on our applicable web sites if a security breach occurs. If this happens, you will need a web browser enabling you to view the applicable web sites. We may also send an email to you at the email address you have provided to us in these circumstances.

8. Your rights and obligations

We generally retain your personal data as long as you keep your account open or as needed to provide you Services. This includes data you or others provided to us and data generated or inferred from your use of our Services. In some cases we choose to retain certain information in a depersonalized or aggregated form.

8.3 Account Closure

If you choose to close your Wetalk account, your personal data will generally stop being visible to others on our Services within 24 hours. We generally delete closed account information within 30 days of account closure, except as noted below.

We retain your personal data even after you have closed your account if reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations (including law enforcement requests), meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse (e.g., if we have restricted your account for breach of our Community Policies), enforce our Policy, and other reasonable factors. We will retain de-personalized information after your account has been closed.

Information you have shared with others (e.g., through updates or group posts) will remain visible after you close your account or delete the information from your own profile or mailbox, and we do not control data that others have copied out of our Services. Groups content and ratings or review content associated with closed accounts will show an unknown user as the source. Your profile may continue to be displayed in the services of others (e.g., search engine results) until they refresh their cache.

9. International Users

The Wetalk web site is hosted in Vietnam and is intended for and directed to users around the world. We may transfer your personal data to countries other than the one in which you live. Our database server providers comply with Vietnamese laws. If you are accessing this web site from other regions with laws or regulations governing personal data collection, use, and disclosure, please be advised that through your continued use of this web site, which is governed by this privacy policy, and our Terms of Service, you are transferring your personal information to Vietnam and you consent to that transfer.
